hi there! thanks for taking the time to check this out :)
If you’ve received this link, it’s because I consider you family.
So first off, I want to say –– THANK YOU.
You have been a major part of my life, speaking in, sowing in with love, and encouraging me in my journey with Jesus. Thank you for the investment you’ve already made in me. Your friendship and love is the most precious gift, and far more valuable to me than anything material. Please know my heart. I am who I am today because of the people God has surrounded me with. Because of the family He has given me. YOU have been a huge part of His provision in my emotional and spiritual growth, and I’m grateful for you. :)
So what’s this all about?
Well, I have a real financial need and I’m inviting you to pray and consider giving.
I am about to embark on a month-long journey of travel to Nashville, then to London, Paris, and Spain. The Europe trip came about because my best friend Kate Vincent is getting married in London (where she lives now), and asked me to be a bridesmaid. Obviously, I said yes, and began planning about 9 months ago. As a full-time small-business owner (who is still very new to this whole thing), finances have been steady, but tight for me for the past year and a half. I’ve been saving for this trip, but as everything added up, I realized that I simply don’t have enough to cover all the associated expenses.
On top of that, I felt like the Lord asked me at the beginning of this summer to follow His leadership into a “slow summer” of rest, deliverance, and deep healing in His presence. He asked me to be obedient with every potential client, and as it turned out, I said “no” to most of the new potential deals that presented themselves, because He asked me to trust Him. WELL… I did trust Him, and it was INCREDIBLY fruitful. I’ve grown more this summer than in any season before, and have been set free from serious strongholds and mindsets that had been holding me back my entire life. I am SO grateful that the Lord created space for me to receive His season of rest.
However, with that slow season, I had to dip into most of my savings, leaving me in a less-than-ideal financial situation going into a month of travel. I’m both spending money to travel, but also, have to consider the opportunity cost of my time, and the reality that I won’t be billing very many client hours in October. Yikes.
How Can You Help?
This week, things started looking overwhelming and dire.
In that place, the Lord invited me to fast and pray for financial breakthrough and wisdom. He showed me where the enemy had been lying to me about my worth, and about “what people would think if I asked for help” because I chose to have a slow summer and I chose to quit my full-time job to pursue the vision God gave me, and I chose to say yes to this trip, etc... Ugh, the lies. So silly, but they can feel so real. The Lord revealed a facade of pride in my heart, which has always told me that I have to be a STRONG, INDEPENDENT WOMAN who doesn’t need ANY help from anyone. More lies.
So here I am –– with the creative solution that the Lord revealed to me: an invitation to my spiritual family to consider supporting me in a place of need. This is extremely vulnerable, and honestly, pretty scary for me to put out there. But I’m walking in the confidence that He has already validated me, and knows my every need before I even ask. I know that each of you have deep love for me and know my true heart. That YOU don’t see me the way that the enemy does. That YOU don’t think of me as lazy and irresponsible, but that you see the Kingdom-minded, work-in-progress, surrendered-heart woman of God that I actually am. Thank you for seeing and knowing my heart, and considering sowing into my journey.
The trip itself is mostly a “fun” trip, and a gift from God, but He has been pouring out great vision and insight about how He wants to use me to impact the people that I will encounter throughout the trip. I’m incredibly expectant. From the place of rest and knowing who I am to the Father, He has taught me MUCH about how to be intentional in the everyday moments of life to love people with His love for them. I’m really excited to take what I’ve learned with Him this summer across the pond and love on the people of London, Paris, and Spain.
Think of this as a Holy Spirit-guided, unofficial, non-church-sanctioned, super-fun mission trip. :)
The Practical Details
I wanted this to be as open-ended and pressure-free as possible.
So before you do anything else, please PRAY and ask the Lord how He would have you support me. If you feel that your role is to pray and be an intercessor during this trip, I would be delighted by that contribution. However, if you feel that He is leading you to give financially and sow into my trip, please do ask Him for specific direction on where and how much to contribute. I intentionally left it pretty open, because I would love for you to hear God on how you’re to partner.
There are a few specific one-off expenses that I have not yet covered, like lodging in Spain and the cost of my bridesmaid hair and makeup to be done for the wedding. Those individual items are listed below, and you can choose to invest in one of those if there’s one that you feel particularly drawn towards. Outside of that, I have created a general donation fund, where you can give any amount. If you click on any of the items below, you will see more details about that particular need, the breakdown of expenses, and how your contribution will be used. Either click “Support This Need” for the one-off items, or click “Donate to the General Fund” to give any amount to the general fund.
Happy side-note about David :)
I also did want to share a neat update about something else that will be taking place on this trip.
David Osborne is his name, and I met him, an incredible man of God, in Denver in June through the Upper Room Denver community. He has been pursuing me long-distance for the past 4 months and we’ve been getting to know each other via FaceTime and texting. He is absolutely AWESOME and you guys will all love him, if / when you get to meet him. :)
After much fasting, prayer, and consideration, he has decided to meet me in London for our first date(s), and 4 days together before the wedding festivities kick off. He is currently based in the Philippines as a full-time missionary, and I know it was a big financial decision for him to invest in travel. We are both excited to get to know each other in-person and see where God might be taking our relationship. One of the things the Lord put on my heart to ask for help with was covering an awesome date night for us in London to help alleviate some of the financial stress of David’s trip. Plus, I thought it would be pretty sweet to have my spiritual fam invest in our relationship from the early stages in this unique way. :)
