As one of the primary leads for the organic social team handling the U.S. Air Force and Space Force Recruiting efforts for the past three years, I’ve had the privilege of helping to shape and evolve our social practice. I started on this team primarily as a Senior Social Strategist, shaping the direction of the social program on behalf of my client. This role had me in the trenches writing and curating upwards of 200 organic social posts per month. At the same time, I lead point on big ideas and strategic initiatives, such as launching our USAF brands on new platforms like Snapchat and IG Reels and standing up the first ever “Airman Ambassador” program, an intra-organizational influencer program.
I spent two years hiring and building a social team from the ground up, developing systems and workflows for an efficient monthly content creation process, and helping our team successfully publish 500+ posts per month across 5 U.S. Air Force sub-brands. After dedicating myself to building a well-oiled content creation machine, I decided I wanted to dip my toes more heavily back into the creative realm — my true comfort zone. In 2022, I began transitioning into a role more dedicated to our production needs, including creative direction, filming and editing original assets for our content team on Air Force bases across the country, and leading point on our first-ever organic social campaign (which is still in production, to be launched early 2024).
Due to Department of Defense regulations, government entities are banned from being on TikTok. However, I have made it my express goal in this role to bring TikTok culture and social-first thinking to our work via IG Reels, YouTube Shorts and Snapchat. Below you’ll find a few select videos that I either filmed and edited, concepted, or provided creative direction on.
